Discover Academics, Skills, College, Career—Together.

A Career Academy is a small school within a high school. In Career Academies, students learn in smaller groups—“schools within schools”—that help build multi-year relationships with teachers and other kids. Specialized classes teach the things young people need to know to succeed in the world of work. With paid internships and summer jobs, students can earn cash while getting valuable experience. And Career Academy students go to college more often than other kids. Solid academics AND career skills… that's what Career Academies are all about.

Did You Know?

Through a combination of increased wages, hours worked, and employment stability, real earnings for young men in the Academy group increased by $3,731 (17 percent) per year — or nearly $30,000 over eight years.

Students and parents, why would you choose a Career Academy?

I think the academy is perfect the way it is. It teaches me new things and allows me to work with devices I don't have myself.

“The ALES was the main reason I wanted to go to school every day.  Once I graduated and attended the police academy I could not believe how much I already knew from all of my criminal justice classes.   I was better prepared and had set my goals for my career”.
